“The Pamplin Family & Connections”

by

William E. Pamplin, Jr.
Genealogical Researcher & Author

From the late 1950's until the 1980's, William E. (Bill) Pamplin, Jr. devoted a great deal of time researching and collecting information about the history of Pamplin family members in the United States. His research and travels took him to state & county archives, real estate records, deed books, census records and libraries. In addition, he corresponded extensively with many Pamplin family members in the United States, Canada and abroad. Through his work, he also established contact with Michael Ian Coyne, a Pamplin family researcher in Great Britain.

In the mid-1980s, William E. Pamplin, Jr. published the results of his work with the help of Martha Pamplin Rosso (typesetter extraordinaire) & Gateway Press Publishing Company of Baltimore, Maryland. Both volumes contain over 350 pages of Pamplin family information and are printed on archive quality paper. They are hard bound in an attractive crimson binding with gold lettering. The cost of typesetting and printing of both Volume I and Volume II were funded personally by William E. Pamplin, Jr.

In 1986, the price of each volume for family members (computed from publication costs) was $35.00 US. We are currently asking $55.00 dollars US for the two volume set (this price is below the 1986 price). Your purchases helps to support additional research and this Web site.

Comments we have received about
“The Pamplin Family & Connections”

VGB in Louisiana - “You have no idea how much pleasure your father's books have brought my family. We have donated sets to a couple of libraries. I have mine at my fingertips and refer to them often. They are well documented. My husband and I are both attorneys, and I cannot tell you how valuable these books are because of their precision. Several members of my family own their own set.”

RLG in Virginia - “I want to take the time to thank you for Volumes I & II of The Pamplin Family & Connections I received this week. They are a joy to read. Your father's research has filled in so many vacant places in my family research.”

CA in Texas - “Your books came today and I am thrilled. It will take quite some time to get them digested, but I am impressed with what I have seen this evening.”

GC in Tennessee - “The books are everything I expected them to be and more. It's obvious that a great deal of research went into their preparation. Again: thank you!”

DE in Kansas - “A great deal of work and time was spent in the making of the books (Volumes I & II of The Pamplin Family & Connections).  Appreciation and gratitude from all the Pamplins goes to those responsible. Thank you so very much. I shall cherish my copy always.”

LMC in Southern California - “Your father did a beautiful job with the books. So much work has gone into them that they are priceless. Will have to lay everything out and compare with what I have collected.”
